5 beaches near Jelsa that you can easily visit by bike
The surroundings of Jelsa hide beautiful beaches, but it is also an advantage that you can go down anywhere along the sea shore, claim a flat rock for yourself and enjoy the day further away from the crowded beaches. On our list you can find 5 beaches that are accessible by bike, and driving to them does not require too much effort.
1. Grebišće
First beach is situated approximately 2 km from Jelsa. It can be reached by bicycle in a pleasant 15-minute ride along the coast itself. After the ride you can refresh yourself in the beach bar. The beach is actually divided into two parts, a larger sandy part and a smaller pebble part, so there is something for everyone's taste.
2. Zenčišće
Zenčišće can be reached by continuing on the same road for another 10 minutes after Grebišće. It is popular among children and most of the children from Jelsa have their own stories about family trips to this beach. Mine is that it was the beach where I went to learn to swim. The beach has showers, a concrete jetty and a small pebble beach, as well as flat rocks with accessible entrances to the sea. In addition, there is also a Zen beach bar. For those looking for adventure, there is a resort above the beach which is now abandoned but, with maximum caution, interesting to explore.

3. Sveti Luka
The beach is recognizable by the small church of St. Luke right on the waterfront. That is why it is known by the locals as "Carkvica" which means small church in Croatian. This is the furthest beach in a row on the road that connects the beaches of Mina-Grebišće-Zenčišće-Sveti Luka. It is less popular, there are no beach bars and it is ideal for someone who values peace and quiet.
4. Maslinica
A beautiful beach near Vrboska recognizable by the crystal blue sea and the pine forest that surrounds it. The last 500 meters of the road is macadam, so it is recommended to walk and not drive the bike. Due to the pine forest, it is easy to find a place in the shade for those who are not big fans of sun and the handful of rocks that surround it are ideal for sunbathing lovers (just don't forget your SPF).

5. Soline
Another beach near Vrboska that can be reached by driving along the seashore, in the shade of pine trees. The distance from Jelsa is some 5 kilometers, but since most of the road is flat, it is not too demanding. The beach, due to the nearby hotel, has many facilities such as water sports, aqua park, beach bar and restaurant. For those who want a calmer atmosphere, the Glavice peninsula is located nearby. The path surrounded by pine trees leads through the entire peninsula, and the trees are only a few meters from the sea, so it is guaranteed that everyone will find a piece of paradise for themselves.
Hidden gem: Čorni Petar
A hidden paradise in the pine forest and a favorite place where locals come to rest when they are caught by the "fjaka". Fjaka is a state of mind popular in Dalmatia or as I found best described online, " term for a particular relaxed state of body and mind, can best be described as the "sweetness of doing nothing" or being in a "day-dreamy state". In fact, this is a beach bar on the cape of Grebišće bay. The beach bar is located in the shade of pine trees, an ideal place to treat yourself to gemišt or homemade sage juice to cool down when the heath becomes unbearable. The choice of music is excellent, the waiters are super nice, the sea is crystal blue, the food on offer is just right to refresh yourself after swimming - what else does a person need?
